My first carâs radio (AM) didnât work so I got a large transistor radio and set it beside me on the seat. The heater did work. It did not have AC though.
Ah,the picture reminds me of one of my numerous cars.Specifically,I am reminded if my 1961 Plymouth Valiant coupe.Very small 6 cylinder motor, pushbutton Torqueflite transmission, pushbutton AM radio. And 440 air conditioning;thatâs 4 windows open and 40 miles per hour.(Sigh).I wonder where the prince is today.Oh,as a whimsy, the car was named"Prince Valiant"!
I put a portable radio in the dashboard ashtray of my first car. It got jammed on my favorite station. However, it was stolen. I suspect the thief wasnât that interested in classical music. The greatest loss was it had NiCd batteries.
Mine had an a.m. radio and no heat . . . or a.c. either, for that matter. God, that car sucked!!!!! But I was 16 and it was freedom so I guess you canât beat that!
goodness! lighten upâŠ.I am 64 and am hardly a bigoted ageist, what I DO like to do is poke fun. how it must be difficult to walk around with that attitude. I feel sorry for you

My first car had a heater, but it was stuck in the ON position. Great for winter, not so great for a Texas summer.

First car (1961) was a 1938 Chevy 2-dr.. 3 on the floor, small 6 cyl., no radio, and ALMOST no heater. (almost non-existant)

I can also remember the days when you had the choice of two body stylesâŠâŠâŠ.with or without chromeâŠ..
My first car was a 7 year old 1950 Chevrolet. It had chrome so I had the deluxe model.
