There was a “family pub” a short distance from where I lived when my kids were growing up. The only difference from that and any neighborhood restaurant was that there was a bar with stools as well as tables. Oh, and some kid-friendly pinball machines and a short-legged pool table. They made great club sandwiches.

Ah, so now I know who Michael Stipe is. I rely on comics to keep me up-to-date on cultural goings-on I usually don’t give a *&^% about. (I see Stipe was born in 1960, about the last time I paid any attention to pop music.)
