Rocky and Bullwinkle were city dwellers in the mural I once did for my kids; painted a few characters every day when they laid down for a nap. Extending over all the walls, that I painted a light flat blue, I began with seaside at the door- Cecil the Seaserpent and Beany Boy on Captain Hook’s ship with Peter Pan- Pinocchio running to the dock with Jimminy following – next were the tenements with Rocky, also Alvin and chipmunks. In the street was a game of Golden Goose with many Disney characters and there was a distant road leading to Cinderella’s castle (with the Pumpkin coach) behind the tenements Jack had planted his beanstalk and the giant’s foot came from the ceiling. I combined those things as they fit in all around the room and after all were finished, did a flagstone path to connect all around the room- with a black marker. I’ve always loved painting freehand on walls;-)
