TSOJ, you don’t think the Topsiders planted something in there, do you? An exploding bear would not be cool.

Philip K. Dick story – ‘second variety’ – really, really scary (and paranoid, of course)

It’s possible that it belonged to a mutant child before the Topsiders got to them. Still it is refreshing to see Holly knowing how to put a positive light on a tragedy.

    Petey can relate.

Amnesia is a mixed blessing. You lose everything you had, but you’re also free from it.

Perceptor3 had a good idea. Maybe the Topsiders planted something in the bear. Only it could be a tracking device that will lead the Topsiders to Endtown.

I love how slender Holly’s hands look in the first panel. They look very human, so I can imagine a sort of graceful-looking woman she must have been before the mutilation. And her ears, when flopped back, always remind me of a nurse’s cap … ^^

It used to be a Major Matt Mason action figure until the mutagenic virus changed it into a teddy bear!

“Not knowing the past…leaving the future wide open,” referring to the bear but pertinent to an attentive Petey.

A lost doll…a symbol of lost innocence. A time that was, that never will be again, nostalgic yearning for what was before what is. If this is a lead into someone’s past, it is a very good one.

Some Topsiders thought the Teddy weapons were too cruel even for mutants, but the hardliners demanded their right to bear arms.
