@Andrea — sorry, no, there was no obvious conclusion to anybody but you.Now you’re disappointed that Guy and rOdd purposely avoided following your instructions??LOL!!Comics are submitted to the syndicate weeks ahead of time, sometimes months. They have to be sent out to be colored, sent to newspapers, and the pages set up for printing.Since the news has to be last-minute, the comics, food, and other features are done ahead of time.
This wasn’t drawn late Wednesday night, minutes after seeking advice from the forum.
Seems like many of us have been duped by the strip description… I have been receiving this strip for a short while now, and have yet to see anything that matches the ‘About Brevity’ description.
Where is this “sharply intelligent, amusingly idiosyncratic and often uproariously funny” material they brag about? Is waiting for it to appear just like this latest offering, a drawn-out waste of time and energy, leading only to a disappointing conclusion?
Life is too short to waste on stuff like this, and as I’m not a masochist, I’m removing it from my list.
Folks, it is not just tag. The dark haired boy no longer has the slightly stupid look about him while the other lad suddenly does have that look. There is a transference of maladies here. A mean game of tag, to be sure, but a game of tag. Anyway, it will likely make sense tomorrow. And to “Shaboom Baloom,” don’t think of this strip as “comic.” It is not always funny. Once in a while, maybe, but that is not the point. There is an almost mentally deranged under tone here. If all you want is humor then stick with “Lio,”
I remember the last time they did this with the 2 kids that grew up and married it was freaking hilarious. Everyone was saying the same thing, too. what’s going on? I don’t get it! Just wait for tomorrow or Saturday folks. I’m sure it’ll all pull together and be a good one.
I can only assume that Guy and Rodd do this for 1 of 2 reasons.
1. It drives the comment trolls crazy2. It’s a play on the name of the comic.
While I hate comment trolls, I love the simplistic irony of #2.
I think it speaks to the condition of our country today when we all can get so worked up over a simple comic strip. I’m enjoying the joke that is us, so far.
@susansunshine I’m with you on this one - i.e., “it ain’t over till it’s over” - and I don’t think it’s over . . . but reading the comments has been VERY entertaining - it’s a comic folks. A comic. … and the punchline is us.
For those of you who are gonna cancel your subscription to Brevity because of this, stick it out a little longer. I haven’t been watching it for very long, but I’m liking it better. It is impossible to always be hysterical. Also, subscribe to some other ones too, so if you hit a dud, there is always the next one. Besides, I doubt this rodeo is over yet!!!
Wow Guy and Rodd you guys really struck a nerve here! LOL! Bravo! It’s only Thursday, folks, and I have been reading this strip for a few years now. Good strip! Guess some of you don’t have the imagination it takes to appreciate it.
I think that making us wait all week for the punchline is part of the joke. I give Guy and Todd credit for playing with the format and trying something different.

I am not sure I will continue to read this strip. I will give it a few days to see what happens but this is too boring.

As Shakespeare said, “Brevity is the soul of wit”, but as I say, wit is not the soul of “Brevity”.
