Calvin is really too big for his Mom to be carting him around.

If Mom follows Calvin’s instructions, he will be risking life and limb. That’s putting the cart before the hearse.

Calvin thinks it’s a sports cart!“Give him an inch, and he’ll take a mile” …and Mom might not be able to ‘foot’ the bill!

@Hobbes- You been hanging around too much with Puddleglum lately? Multiple pun-ishment? As CB would say, “Good Grief!”

Hobbes might be carried off to the punny farm, but who am I to talk?Etc. sometimes means something like “that’s all, folks!” Etc., etc., etc., (as in the King and I) could have been considered excessive.P.S. As far as I’m concerned, keep them coming. “A good pun (man) nowadays is hard to find.” Bessie Smith

“Good Grief” is an oxymoron, isn’t it?…“Multiple pun-ishment” is good grief. They are synonymous …have the same meaning, even (Snagglepuss)

@thirdguy,I take it you don’t like canned peas. At least they are nutritious compared to chips.“Let the chips fall where they May”, and you can March all over them “January to December (we’ll have moments to remember)”. – The Four Lads

Frame 5: Mom: No, you might crash into something.Frame 6: Calvin: What’s wrong with that?Frame 7: Mom: You could fall on your head, run up a terrible hospital bill, linger a few months, and die.Frame 8: Calvin: So far, this has been a major disappointment. Frame 9: Calvin: I’ve got the most boring Mom in the whole world.Frame 10: Calvin: Mom, we need to pick up some pancake mix. I think we ran out.

When I was 17, my bf and I were messing around in a parking lot and he asked me to get into a shopping cart. Then he wheeled it super fast and bumped it into this car, and the owners of the car had just walked up and yelled at us big time. You’d think we were too old to do something like that. Honestly, I don’t know what he was thinking by bumping me into the car though.

If Calvin’s mom had put him in the cart correctly, he would have been in the little seat facing her – therefor cutting off any race car attitude.

I have never understood why they make the seats in grocery carts so that the kid faces his/her mother. Humans are constructed to move forward. Going backwards is quite difficult. Calvin is just a bit more advanced than most children in this respect. If someone could make a ramp so he could vault the meat counter at the rear of the store, what a story he would have to tell Hobbes…..

Calvin might be a little big to ride in the cart; wait until he crashes into the jumbo shrimp. The odds are even he’ll get thrown out. This is a seriously funny cartoon.
