"...So I was reading this magazine while I stood in the checkout line at the grocery store - oh, I got the ice cream you like, by the way - and there was an interesting article that I didn't have time to completely finish because the man in front of me only had a few items, but one statistic in the article caught my eye - once I found the reading glasses that I thought I'd left in the bank but then found in the bottom of my purse (I really need to clean and organize my purse) - anyway, this statistic said that women speak about 20,000 words each day compared to men who speak only 7,000 words" "Hm." I was standing in a grocery check out line one day and happened to glance at the magazine rack. There was a “news paper” called something like “The Inquiring Reader”, or similar name, and on its cover was a picture of a horribly huge explosion some where. In the middle of the explosion cloud was a picture of a hideous head with horns on its head, snaggly teeth, and so forth. The caption beneath the picture said, “Satan’s Head Appears in the Middle of an Industrial Explosion”.I turned to the person behind me in the line and said, “How do they know that is Satan. Have they seen Satan, have they talked with Satan, have they made a deal with Satan?”The people in the line, and the check out clerk, didn’t stop laughing for 5 about minutes

Actually, this information is false. Women and men speak roughly the same amount of words daily, regardless of gender.
