    Pt 1:

Let me explain why this is so dangerous. First, if you apply the front brakes too hard while riding a bicycle, or if something else forces the front wheel to stop too abruptly, like if you hit a curb or something, the momentum of your body can cause the front wheel to dig into the ground and the rear wheel to pop up into the air, and throw you forward over the handlebars in a sort of somersault. This can happen even without someone sitting on the handlebars. You especially have to be careful of this if your bicycle has cantilever brakes, because cantilever brakes can grip your wheel rims especially tight. Because Luann is riding on the handlebars, she’s raising the bicycle’s center of gravity and shifting the bicycle’s center of gravity forward. That’s making the bicycle more likely to somersault than it would normally be, especially when they’re going downhill. Also, if the front wheel is forced to stop too suddenly, the motion of the bicycle flipping forward over its front wheel is going to cause the handlebars that Luann is sitting on to launch her up and forward like the arm of a mangonel. Then as Luann’s butt gets catapulted forward, that’s going to cause her head to whip forward just like the sling on a trebuchet is whipped forward by the motion of the trebuchet’s arm. That could potentially accelerate Luann’s head to an even higher velocity than the initial velocity of the bicycle. Then as the bicycle somersaults forward, Luann’s forehead is going to bash into the pavement like a sledge hammer, and there’s a good chance Gunther and the bicycle will both land on top of Luann just as her head is hitting the ground, thus driving her head into the pavement even harder. Then when you take into account that Luann’s not even wearing a helmet, she could very easily be killed or permanently disabled as a result.

    Pt 2:

Now, just in case someone who reads this is ever dumb enough to give a girl a ride on the handlebars of a bicycle, I’d like to make a suggestion as to how to not kill her. First, don’t even think about using the front brakes. Don’t even touch them. In America the front brakes are usually controlled by the left hand brake lever, though I don’t know about other countries. It would actually be safer to purposely steer the girl into a utility pole or something, than to try to use the front brakes. At least if you steer her into a utility pole, her head won’t hit at any higher a velocity than whatever speed the bicycle was going, but if you try to use the front brakes, the catapulting effect of the handlebars can actually accelerate her head to a higher velocity than that at which the bicycle was traveling, especially if the bicycle was already traveling at a high speed. Instead, if you’re ever dumb enough to give a girl a ride this way, you should ignore the brakes and instead steer the bicycle uphill so it rolls to a stop on its own. If you have to go downhill, probably the best thing to do is to grab the girl around the waist with one arm and pull her back into your lap so that her feet are sticking up over the handlebars. That way if she hits something, at least she’ll hit feet first. Then you should apply the REAR brakes as hard as you can. In America the rear brakes are usually controlled by the right hand brake lever, though again I don’t know about other countries. The rear brakes won’t stop you very effectively, but they will slow you down somewhat, and they won’t flip you over. Then you should steer the bicycle into a utility pole, a lamp post or something like that, so you can stop without catapulting the girl headfirst onto the pavement. You probably shouldn’t steer the bicycle into a car or a fence though, because those will cost time and money to fix after you hit them, and who
