Remember folks, these strips are from the 80s. In 2008 Lynn retired FBOW and the syndicate started rerunning them from the beginning. That’s why some of the story lines are dated.
Reminds me of a cartoon from the past, a mountaineer looking back into the cabin and shouting “Ma, when you git done having that kid, come help me finish plowing the south 40!”
Never had a kid (or been in the near vicinity when sisters were in labor). Is it possible she’s mopping because her water broke? Or does water breaking mean just lie down on the floor now, and get it over with? Just asking because it’s waaay outside my experience.
I like this strip. Another strip that I really like is “Freshly Squeezed” … I suggest you add it to your “Comic Page” and read it for a few days … I think you will want to keep it there. It is very well drawn and written.
I read Loretta Lynn’s autobiography: The Coal Miner’s Daughter. As soon as she finished birthing her one baby, she just sat up and washed the diapers belonging to the other baby.
Stories around telling of women who felt heart attack symptoms, and went to take a bath so they would be clean when they arrived at the hospital. A few were dead when they did, but they were clean.
mopping floors on hands and knees is actually a great way to get labor going. I think you have to be in t he early stages of labor already for it to work, but my mother is sure that my younger sister would never have been born if she hadn’t scrubbed the floors when she was 2 weeks overdue.
Usually now I don’t even see it because Go Comics says to come back later….Plus trying to spoil it when I do get it with a Drag command right in he middle.

Unfortunately, after Annie washes the floors, her water breaks.

She can go waterboarding while she’s at it.

I do. Because the floor doesn’t get really clean with a mop.

Ah yes, nesting. Washed my vertical blinds the day before I went into labor with #3… Each one, individually, twice, front and back

Remember from the 80’s? Huh? Was it any more or less likely that a floor would have been hand-washed in the 80’s than today?

Don’t even try to rationally argue with a pregnant woman.
