Seriously, if you were a head coach, would you let some guy you just interviewed go onto the practice field and start telling players what to do if he wasn’t even hired or briefed on team direction, workings, etc?

No, I wouldn’t let someone I didn’t know come in and start coaching my kids, not until at least checking the registry of sex offenders first.
