Peter: So how was your trip to the mall with Paige? Jason: Not as bad as I'd hoped. My report on near-death experiences is going to require more research. That's why I'm taping the weather channel right now. Peter: Is there some sort of killer storm going on? Jason: No, no- I'm recording it over your Springsteen concert tape. Peter: Can we stop a sec so I can take notes?

Springsteen?? Never heard of himā¦
But Jason needs The Doctor to save him. Oh wait Doctor doesnāt save people from siblings, just aliens and invents a VHS recorder before its time.

Of all the āClassicā strips here, this one is the best for nostalgic technogeeks. It does a great job of illustrating the extremely short life span of ācutting-edgeā technology!

Video cassettes? That makes me feel old in an age of DVDs and YouTube.

I only have a couple of movies on DVD. I have more on the original laser vision, and of course some on VHS and a handful recorded off the air on Beta tape. I still have the machines to play all of the formats. Like Falcon, I only have a standard def analog TV (with a converter box to watch stuff off the air in the event of a flood emergency). I suppose I could get a Blu-Ray drive for the computer, since my monitor will do high def.
