That’s an interesting possibility. The virus may have affected some people physically, i.e. the Endtowners; and some others mentally, i.e. the Topsiders. Thus the Topsiders only look human. They have been transformed into psychopathic murderers.

Fighting for what you think is survival against complete eradication of your group makes you think you must do “hard choices”. This is fairly (sadly) common. The problem is when you start to view it either as the only way to behave, not as a temporary one, or when you start to enjoy it…

Girlfriend? Could that be someone we know in that other topsider suit?

I would really like an in-depth look at topsider society. Can they really all be like this? Even Nazi Germany had good people living in it!!!

Like I said, this strip can go from high drama to dark humor like Lila can go through five rounds of Jack Daniels at Happy Hour on a Saturday night!

Question is, what is Flask and the others are going to do to these crash test dummies? (I.E., the Topsiders)

I think maybe Doug should watch his back (while he still has one). The threat isn’t in front of him…

Amazing that a child can show so much humanity through a monster tentacle and these nominally human topsiders can ooze such monstrousness,

Which one will scream the most? The Topsiders’ will, considering that they don’t need to lose their heads to scream louder than anyone. They just need a tiny hole in that suit of theirs.

We know that Topsiders haven’t been exposed to the mutagen yet because when their suits rip, they mutate. No, they’re the “pure, uncontaminated race”.
