Queen Izzy was funny. This. . . not so much. I want politics, I’ll read “Prickly City” or “Doonesbury.”

Oh, naysayers can head off somewhere else (but Prickly City? Really? I thought you wanted funny, but at least you didn’t say Mallard Fillmore).

Obama’s socialist economics are killing the USA but Rick Perry (Governor of Texas which has created more jobs than any other) is “scary”? When Fry and Lewis want to make political comments, maybe they should actually understand politics.

And BTW, I agree completely that this is the wrong venue for political satire. Social satire, yes, but political is just not a good fit for this strip.

Sweet. We got a conservative wacko pig to laugh at. Does anything top Over the Hedge? Maybe we need a Marxist salamander to even out. And is the author aware that he named the pig after Richard Scary, the children’s book author?

On other aspects of the strip, I rembember a few years ago when “Onyums” was one snack food that Vern likes and that R. J. found repulsive. Reminds me when I took the bus home from college across the state. I was eating a bag of Funyons and the person sitting next to me was not pleased.

Yep, he’s got to be pretty scary to a group of lay-about junk-food addicts that live off of others.

Wait – I thought that after Obama a person’s religious beliefs were supposed to be irrelevant.

@APerson: your vision of “Dominionism” exists only in the paranoid fantasies of the tinfoil-hat crowd at DailyKooks and other far-lefty-loon websites. Rick Perry served as governor of Texas since 2000, and hey guess what? Texas still isn’t any kind of theocracy!Get a grip. Just because somebody (1) disagrees with your political opinions, and (2) professes a belief in God doesn’t make them a “theocrat”.

    @ trm

True, your 1+2 doesn’t equal “theocrat”, but I think APOI was referring to a little more than just those two points. Are you saying that dominionists don’t exhibit/believe the things APOI stated?

29 comments (and counting!) … they must be doing something right. The strip barely gets a 4th of that most days.

Excellent depiction of what Rick Perry really is. However, Perry’s hair is phony. An honest review of Perry’s actions and statements will show that he’s a hypocrite and corrupt.

Rick Perry’s anti-science agenda is scary. Science is what moves the world forward. How can a presidential candidate be against science?
