    Y’know, walnuts are small enough that they can be swallowed hole, if necessary. Just don’t expect to enjoy it when they come back out again.

    Maybe the nutcracker on the table didn’t work.Maybe I’m specially challenged this morning but I can’t tell what he’s using on the nut. Looks like a cross between a microphone and a flashlight.

    Bah! Walnuts are the easiest ones to crack! (Peanuts don’t count, being legumes) You can even crack them open with your hands. But just try it with a Brazil nut or filbert (hazelnut). Besides, he’s got a nut-cracker!

    My mother used to crack black walnuts in the back yard. Set them on a flat rock and hit them with a hammer.

    The only type that I’ve never been able to crack in my hand is the coconut.
