Another great classic storyline. The 60s and 70s were the golden era for Peanuts, in my opinion. The basis for so many of the great early half hour TV specials, the first two theatrical movies…great stuff!
Nuthin’ meaner than an auditorium full of pre-teens. It’s off to the old Pumpkin Patch solo for Linus. Maybe Sally will come along and sooth his ego.
Actually, my mom hated Halloween, because many of the macabre elements were very occult. She was always ultra-protective about the occult, anything related to it was banned in the house until the youngest was 18. Her attitudes have left me with a mild distaste for the macabre elements of Halloween as well. Consequently, in the future my family’s Halloweens will be a merging of traditional Halloween, and Linus’ Halloween. We’ll have costume parties (no occult themed costumes allowed), but instead of “trick-or-treat” we leave our Jack-O-Lantern buckets around the Jack-O-Lantern and those who have been good will find their buckets full of candies and small toys the next morning.

Idiot. What does the Great Pumpkin even have to do with the election? Should have stuck to the issues.

Linus led with his passion and not with the facts.

You know he’s going to hear it from Lucy. He should stay on the stage where it’s safer.

I believe Charles Schulz must have had a laughing fit when he was drawing Peanuts, Linus and Lucy and writing the story, he was great!!

Cain, Bachmann, Perry et al make Linus seem sane.

Linus was not supposed to reveal the existence of the Great Pumpkin to the world. For his unforgivable transgression he will suffer!!!

Candidates should say things that correspond to the real world. In other words, they should tell the truth.

Thankfully for Linus, belief in the Great Pumpkin has skyrocketed since ’93, when Tim Burton did that animated biopic about his origin.

You didn’t blow it, Linus. You just wiped out the election off the face of the map!
