Rat: Hey Boss Man... do we get off Thursday and Friday this week, or just Friday? Man: You get off neither. Rat: I quit. No one disrespects Garbanzo Bean Friday.
Ummm, don’t forget that Saturday is Yom Kippur, which means that it begins at sundown on Friday (Arev Yom Kippur). It’s the Jewish day of fasting, reflection, and repentance.
Maybe Rat will find out that he’s wrong, and get very angry. Columbus Day should not be a holiday. There’s nothing to celebrate. Some other European would have figured out where the Americas were even if Columbus hadn’t done it in 1492, and probably done a better job of managing the new Spanish settlements than Columbus did….I favor an international Free Marathon Day. Awwwwwwww, yeah.

I’m thinking a nice seven bean salad, some hummus, and pork and beans would be a good festive meal?

I’m amazed that Rat is still working at Joe’s Roastery. I remember he got fired from there a few years ago. Can’t remember why they hired him back.

How is everyone celebrating? I’m having chick pea salad, with chick peas, tomatoes and kalamata olives. Yum.
