This time Clyde’s been out-played. The guy is admitting his philosophy “isn’t the best of all possible philosophies”, but if he still considers it “good enough” he’s being perfectly consistent. It’s optimistic, but without unrealistic expectations.
(Not “Dr. Pangloss”, but “Dr. Semi-gloss?”)
