It’s good to have a friend, when you are afraid, even he is afraid to, but it is better to be not allone with your fear! Together it is better to bear!
Ah, the joys of camping- the fire, the snacks, the scary stories,,, all the sounds of the woods at night… I hope they aren’t too far from the latrine in that tent!!!!
bluskies latrine tent? are you kidding? like calvin would use the latrine tent if he’s scared. at home he went out the window cause he thought there was a monster under the bed.
Note that Calvin is wearing a scout uniform. Here is a strip that we read a few months ago. Bill Watterson drew it only 8 months before today’s strip. Both Calvin and Hobbes have changed a lot in just 8 months:Click here: Calvin and Hobbes (January 1986)
Latrine tent? Most likely it’s just a short trench. Besides, it’s almost certainly too late for the latrine. Sudden, severe fear acts on that area of the body to create two emergencies that won’t wait. Hope they brought a change of clothes, including underwear.
Maybe you live in a tent in the woods year ’round. If you DO happen to live in a house, who built it? Were they “greedy developers” or honest craftsmen building something good and worthwhile, and employing people into the bargain? I enjoy the woods, and had some to run around in as a kid. But people DO need homes to live in, and places to shop, and jobs to go to. Why must we assume that every developer is greedy? Some probably are, but there are certainly others who create good things with much thought given to landscaping, and esthetics.
Sorry for any confusion; I was not trying to imply that that was a “latrine tent”, but rather that the tent they were in wasn’t far from the latrine, as if it would matter; I too hope they packed clean underwear; as Cosby said, first you say it, then you do it.
Not at all. I’m just a simple guy who happens to love people and I care what happens to them. I try to be fair and see both sides of an issue. I was hoping for an intelligent discussion, because this subject really bothers me; instead, I got a smart remark. Oh, well.
This is why I love C&H. They make me laugh out loud. H’s expression in Panel 5 is priceless and one I can relate to. “Did you hear that?” “What!?” “That!” Classic. Pure classic – it’s either comedy or sheer terror. May all your adventures wind up with a big belly laugh! “Oh, it’s the cat playing with a piece of paper.”

Love how Hobbes is carrying Calvin as they run to the tent.

It looks as if cringing Calvin and terrified tiger Hobbes have ‘generated’ more than for what they bargained.

Woah- seems like a six year old would pass out after carrying a generator deep into the woods. Of course, Calvin has Hobbes to help.

There is no need to be scared in places such as forests because darkness doesn’t hide anything like monsters.

One has to wonder how far they are out in the woods …I remember an overview that showed a nice forest grove just past Mom & Dad’s place …

Like we all remember- “running away from home”…only to hide a few houses away, until you got hungry…

Why is Hobbes scared of a monster that is “ripping the meat off human bones”?
