Wow, I didn’t know old maids could be male.

But anyway, looks aren’t everything.

If they’re happy together, they shouldn’t pay any attention to a couple of air-heads.

I believe the phrase is “scraping the bottom of the barrel”, as in an old-timey flour barrel. I guess they had to update it to fit the cartoon.
