Oh, so spiders aren’t scary? You didn’t see the one in my bathroom the other day and how many times I had to whack it with a toilet brush before it died. That was scary!
I brought a glass into the bathroom to catch the hairy beast, but it felt my footsteps and scurried to where I couldn’t catch him, so on the principle of “wrong place at the wrong time”, I killed it.
BTW, a friend of mine suffered for months from a growing necrotizing sore on her ankle that had her in a wheelchair and in fear of losing a foot. No treatment was helping until she got a diagnosis of a brown recluse spider bite. Then with appropriate meds, she recovered rapidly.
Small plastic film cans used to be handy for moving spiders outside, but now I have a digital camera and I don’t know what happened to the containers I already had.

As if getting smacked wasn’t bad enough, Franky had just picked his nose. Ew!

Heh. My wife is an entomologist – when we see a spider in the bathroom, we carefully pick it up with a damp sponge and let it go in the flowerbeds.
We once caught a big centipede in an apartment kitchen; admired it for a few minutes and let it go under the stove to eat cockroaches.

Do brown recluse spiders prefer to live near hermits?

A few months back I read Shelley’s “Frankenstein”. I don’t recommend it unless you are studying early Romantic hysterical female authors.

(Do brown recluse spiders prefer to live near hermits?)
“They prefer closets and clothes.”
+++++
But that’s so prosaic. I was trying to pun on their name; hermits are also called recluses.
