Hi Dogsniff, in reply to your previous comments about the slowness of the site, I agree with you; not much improvement. But I have noticed that it is only slow when I click back to the previous dayâs comments and then try to go onto the A â Z selection from the previous day. If I return to todayâs date and then access the A-Z selection it is pretty fast. Iâve just tried it now and that seems to be where the problem is. Hope this makes sense and that it speeds up your access times.
Are you kidding me? Someone was offended by ran131âs comment? I read it earlier, but it must have been flagged by enough up tight people that itâs gone now.
Hereâs what it said about 9 hours ago for those who didnât see it:âWho was emancipated here? I think mom is tired of being HIS slave.âThatâs offensive enough to be flagged? My goodness, there are some weak minded people here. Maybe they didnât know what the Emancipation Proclamation was.
I have a student in my class â he must be the materialized version of Calvin without Hobbes. I understand the parents â of both boys. Just yesterday he decided that our school should be burned down. He explained he doesnât mind me but he minds the homework I give him. So I should consider less homework or he might change his opinion. I was laughing to tears and told him he had no homework for that day. The smile on his faceâŠ
I sometimes think that mothers went to âquoteâ school to learn all those that every one of us grew up hearing. One of my favorites was, âClose the door! Were you born in a barn?ââMom, donât you remember?â
Calvinâs mother and Calvin yelling at each other is all too close in my memory. I wonder if that is just a Northeast US kind of thing, or is it, God help us, all over this country?
Every time itâs cold or wintery, I get asked the same questionââWhereâs my coatâ? I donât like to wear one at all, even when it is snowing outside. I donât mind the cold. I live in Hackensack, NJ.
âReichâ? Oh, yes, a reference to the Socialists we had to put down a few decades ago. Hard to believe there are people stupid enough to think a social order for insects will also work for people⊠but, if Marx said it, the leftists believe it; that settles it. Of course, they like to rebrand failed socialists as ârightistsâ, like the âleftover Soviet rightwingers" on MacGyver, back when the real Soviet rightwingers were probably still in Siberia mining salt at gunpoint⊠of leftists.
