Jim I for one don’t mind this story arc – I just enjoy reading the strip. Your art work is fantastic and the story line follows what this strip has done in the past.
How can you commentators say such mean things about family?! This may surprise you, but this unit can get by without Clovia for a couple days.
Who knows maybe the two scam clowns will take advantage of Slim and Slim will sometime realize what error he done to Clovia.

Just a reminder Judy did divorce Gideon. They had a son Gabe but we haven’t seen or heard about him for decades!
