Time isnât going anywhere, fast or slowâŠitâs just a subjective illusion. We imagine one set of things that âhave happenedâ, and we call it the past; we imagine another set of things that âhavenât happened yetâ, and we call it the future; and we make up the notion that weâre moving from one into the other..But itâs all in our heads, which is why it sometimes seems to be moving quickly, and other times slowly â the movement itself is a fantasy. The reality is that weâre always in a dimensionless point called ânowâ. The scenery seems to change as we turn our attention to one thing or another, thatâs all..You all can discuss that while I get more coffee.
Uh-huhâŠScaaaty, try telling that to the finance company when your payment is overdue. Iâm sure theyâll be thrilled to hear that itâs a subjective illusion.
I am convinced that time becomes compressed as we age? Sunday to Saturday, month to momth, do seem to pass faster.I know itâs a mental perception, but it is pretty convincing. I say this as an 80 year old.

As Einstein said: Time is relative, it depends upon which side of the bathroom door youâre on.
