Yeah my Westie came into the bedroom an hour earlier for his morning belly-rub but today he’s back on schedule 7am for a twenty minute rub, then coffee and a shared doughnut.
The cats had food this morning but were out of water. So when I get out of the shower, went into the bedroom and came back in, one of them was in the bathtub drinking the water. That was my cue to water them.
An amusing look at a not-very-amusing topic. Noon is when the sun is at its highest in the sky. If people want to get out of work or school at an earlier hour, they should rearrange the schedules in different seasons on an individual basis without calling it a different time than it really is. The toll that the twice-yearly nonsense takes on people’s health is far greater than any supposed energy savings. It is long past time, IMO, for the whole outdated idea of “daylight saving” to be scrapped. Even the amount of saving on energy has been questioned by studies that factor in the extra amount of time that people are running their air conditioners in the evenings when they stay up “later.”
I wish that they’d STOP changing the clocks around!Put it anywhere…then leave it be!Too many of us have watches, clocks, microwaves, stoves, DVD-R players, coffee pots, grandfather clocks, etc…ALL of them need resetting. Fortunately, the TV set boxes, phones, and computers do themselves. We NOLONGERNEED to change over, we could stop doing it, if the gov’t wasn’t in the pockets of the entertainment industry.
At least where I live, the time change makes sense. This time of year the sun doesn’t come up till after 7 on daylight time. Too many kids on the side of the road waiting for the school bus. But at summer’s peak, without the time change sunrise is around 4:30 am. Much more practical to have longer daylight in the evening than when most people are asleep. That being said, I hate that it’s dark by a little after 5 now.

My cats did the same thing this morning. Takes them a few days to readjust….me too!

Have you pet owners tried a 1/2 hr adjustment for a week or two to ease the transition (for both of you) ?

I wish we could stay with day light savings time all year round! I like the light longer when I get home from work.

Our two dogs are the same way; still on the summer eating schedule. Makes it really fun at 4:00 in the morning! Grrrrrrrrr.

My cat did exactly that same thing at 5:18!Plus, how can it be “normal time” when it’s less than half of the year now??

The cat’s stomach isn’t concerned about the time change!

We had a cat that would keep rubbing his paw on my forehead or back until finally, I had to get up and tend to his needs. Cats rule!

If you think it’s difficult training a cat to change time, try dealing with cows.

Cats are smarter than the government: They know the time didn’t change.
