Liz, only say it if you mean it! I told my husband several times that I didn’t want a gift for our anniversary, I just wanted to go out to dinner. He listened to his work buddies instead and bought me a gift. Not only was I embarrassed because I thought we had come to an understanding, but I was mad that he didn’t listen to me. Of course, it’s women like Liz that say " don’t get me anything" but really mean “you better get me something” that really mess it up for the rest of us honest and direct women.
