Mornin’ Vista Bill, MerryMarg and the rest!Could Mr. Crime be behind Putty Puss’ escape? It’s been carefully planned – down to the .38 and the getaway driver.(Hey, maybe Mr. Crime was producer of Christmas Early’s TV show! It wouldn’t be anything new – a lot of the reality shows on TV are criminally bad!)

More and more complex, this plot, with characters entering and exiting at a withering pace! Who is Winkin, who does he work for, who planned this job, what is its point? And there are plenty more yet-to-be answered questions!

The art is wonderful and Tracy acts like the real Tracy, but I do have a complaint. Like davidf42, I’m confused. I (and I suppose others) didn’t read Tracy as a kid (he was in the “other” newspaper in Detroit). Most of your readers are loving the nostalgia, but one or two old villains at a time is about all I can keep track of. The writers are great, and the majority is loving seeing the Gould villains come back, so it must be good; but I’m missing it. The comic’s not written for my pleasure alone, so don’t worry too much. I just wanted to whine a little. I feel better now, thanks. :-)

Just wondering if the snow is going to come into play here. I hope backup shows up with guns-a-blaze. What about the Putty Puss guard?

Looks like this was a premeditated escape plan.Hurry Tracy, or you’ll be trying to follow tire tracks in the snow.

Ah yes, the famous Dick Tracy snow flakes, which were noticed and referenced by Ed McBain in one of his 87th Precinct novels. Many times, snow storms played a large part in the winter stories. Chasing crooks in the snow with the yellow trench coat and fedora is classic!

Too many villains from the museum are being tossed onstage too rapidly.

This is the worst that Christmas Early has looked.

Mike, on a totally different subject will we get to see some of the “Mystery Minute” episodes that were ( I guess) in the Sunday strips? I sure enjoyed them.

It appears that Putty Puss has planned this entire escapade in advance. He has henchmen working for him, and has somehow bribed or tricked his guard. His stand-in on the stage is either another of his henchmen (unlikely given the reaction), the guard who brought him, or Shawntae. He got the gun from the guard, or had a henchman hide it ahead of time in the dressing room. In any case, the plan was obviously to replace one of the contestants, assassinate Tracy in front of all the viewers, and then escape. Pretty bold plan. Whoever the stand-in is, they are in a lot of trouble.
