Rip: Wait up, Mac, I need to check in with RJ. RJ: What's up, Rip? Rip: Mac needs me and Dutch to check on something with him - I'll see you at home. RJ: OK, Rip. Hey, Dutch - Dutch: Yeah, kid? RJ: I sure would like to spend some time with you before you leave. Dutch: Count on it, kid, we'll be tighter than a vise-grip. I give you my word. Rip: Hey! How come you never said stuff like that to me? Dutch: You were a super-annoying little kid.

I’m suddenly reminded of my late grandfather and the last time I knew him, when I was sixteen…

Actually it’s been a great week so far. The little things that happen before the next story arc begins, and things start to go BOOM again, were always my favorite part of an adventure strip.

In a movie, any time you get dialogue such as in panel 3, somebody is gonna die.

Know why Grandparents and Grandkids are so close? They are united by a common enemy.

I can understand Dutch. Any kid with C4 is going to be annoying.

Anyone feeling a sense of foreboding from today’s strip?

Veridian and crew, I’m liking this week’s nice buildup with camaraderie, especially with the grandpa/grandson bonding on the horizon with Dutch and R.J. (and trying not to think too hard about that “sense of foreboding” some folks here have mentioned gulp!)! Great comments from everyone today, too; I especially liked SkyFisher’s comment about grandparents and grandchildren being united by a common enemy! :-)
