Looks like Flask is unaccustomed to anyone challenging her authority.

I really wasn’t sure how Flask was going to react, but by the look on her face in the first and third panels, Petey just might be able to get through to her. Also, is it a good thing or a bad thing that I always find myself clicking “refresh” on this site from 1:10am on until the new page is up? (Where I live the new pages appear usually between 1:10-1:15am XD) I’m usually a night person but even when I have to get up early the next day, I’ll sometimes stay up just to see the next page before going to bed (or go online and check the new page as soon as I get up if staying up is impossible). I’ve also been spreading the Endtown word, Aaron! I’m trying to get my friends into it! Keep up the good work! Can’t wait to see what happens next! Will Flask go ballistic or can Petey reach her?

No, this is the look of someone that’s made big plans for someone else only to discover that they’re not being appreciated in the way expected. First comes shock, then…

She won’t go ballistic. Petey is the only one who could get through to her.

Really the gun was her main authority. The backing of a distant council is almost nothing in this situation. But the backing of her crew is essential.

Look at Flask; that is rage, not alarm I think Petey will not come to harm She knows just what he was But to him its all fuzz It’s not likely that he’ll buy the farm But I think he’s bought Linda her life Flask was riven by torture and strife That she’d made part of her Sort of “Hitler with fur” And he’s thinking she might be his wife =|====/ Level Head Vote for Endtown 2.0 And for Doc Rat, too The Endtown Forum

The spell has been broken. Flask has built this scenario in her head where she was this great avenging angel, using Petey to justify her own vengful actions. The face has been slapped, the cold water applied. At this point Flask either comes to her senses or goes completely over the edge psycho. I’d say the odds are 50/50 at this point. Only time will tell….

It seems form influences behavior. If Petey were still a PT, I don’t know if he would have been so compassionate. Then, he considered himself an object, but in this body, he’s a person and is living up to that image of himself.

That is interesting. Being without memories, Petey forms his opinions of people based on what they actually do (hence his fondness for Al & Gustine). He initially gave Flask (Blackie) the benefit of the doubt because she was an unknown quantity, and her first act was to save his life (or at least insist that Mallard save him). Obviously his experiences since are altering that initial viewpoint.

What I find interesting is that even at her weepiest, she never refers to him by any other name than Petey (or Darling). Even though she recognized him right away, it seemed her initial denials were a defense mechanism. This would seem to have been the place to abandon that piece of the armor along with the rest of the “tough guy” facade. The backstory window seems to be closing, for now…

One thing more, in the hands of anyone other than Flask, their primary offensive/defensive weapon (the zero gun) is useless. If Flask does not come to her senses, I cannot see Petey handing the gun back to her. The party is now in a more “at risk” position than before.

/Unfortunately, unless there’s some counter measure that hasn’t been introduced yet, the rocket’s going to hit the colony regardless./ Petey can fly and flask will probably tell him how to stop it nowi bet what petey just did reminded her of who he used to be

Petey’s more than capable of stopping Flask himself. .Whoever he was, she was in love/loved him. She hasn’t come to grips with the fact that Petey isn’t Mr. X any more. That he has friends in that colony that she’s about to wipe out. She’s still living in the past and about to get a face-full of the present.

It’s interesting that the “head in a can” is the one to remain the most human.

Let’s see, we had less than four minutes to launch a week ago, so we must be down to almost three minutes left by now. We know Petey can fly rings around an airscout. That panel on the rocket is still open…. Oh the possibilities!

Anthros usually have two breasts like humans, rather than the multiple ones of their species.

Until I see more of her back-story, I’ll figure it as a quirk of the anthropomorphism process.

If Petey’s has a plan to save the day, I just know Wally and Holly will help him get the job done..I’m not saying Wally will go all “Super Saiyan”, but I think this is where his super skills will be at their finest.

I think one factor that will make a difference is just WHO was Petey before he became a brain in a machine? Was he the type of person (or did Flask perceive him as being the type of person back when they were originally together) who takes satisfaction in the deaths of children? Also, who was Flask before this? If she was a Topsider who held feelings like this towards mutants, that will be different than if she was a decent person before her want for revenge corrupted her. I don’t know if we’ll get a flashback, but I do think her reaction to Petey’s wrath might shed some light on their relationship and also who they might have been before this.

Do you keep track of these comments? Yours seem to be the most faithful. The one comment on waiting for the next day for the next exciting presentation is my choice too. But then I am retired and can afford the missed sleep. Am sending for your booklet. Must be cash, I am sorry about that but never found a need for paypal. Look for me in your mailbox. Oh, by the way, get Wally and Holly into this… They knocked off enough of the robots that they should have a free clear access…. We hope. We never did find out who Petie was talking too back there a way. One of his former friends or relations. And thanks for the entertainment..
