Don’t you work at Peanuts with Pastis? He sometimes brings ideas from work to his strip. I’m new here, and working my way through the archives, and have sofar only seen oblique Peanuts references here, while Pastis borrowed most of a strip. While noone can improve Peanuts, he did a funny take on a classic, and the borrowed idea was much better than one of his puns. Instead of puns, keep reusing old ideas. I read an arc yesterday which ran almost a year before the BP disaster that had a few that could have been recycled, or you could have refine the entire Boody and Sir Dudley meet and visit Neptune.
Few saw it then, because noone commented on sushi being more expensive than fried foods underwater.
im diggin the ramsey strips, you nailed him in cartoonism…and about the re runs…even I, your biggest fan, haven’t seen em all, so lots of times I dont even realize they are re runs…you work long hours and that commute is a killer, but whats most important of all is your health…you gotta take care of you or we wont even have re runs:(…take care of yourself PLEASE, Jason
PS I wanna show mom n dad the Ramsey strips when they have time…mom will LOVE them
Justin, I’m glad you explained the reason behind all the reruns. I’ve seen first hand what CFS did to a very dear friend, so take all the time you need man, the wait is worth it. Hope you’re having better luck managing it than my friend is.
I feel your pain Justin! 14 hr. days wear on you after a couple of years. How about a contest with reader a suggested story arcs? The suggestion must be 50 words or less. Winner gets a storyline credit. Might be fun.
Barry: That’s a good idea but I really don’t need ideas. I have a storyline all written and ready to go. The problem is drawing it. Writing doesn’t take up nearly as much time.

Oh, no, Red Bull is evil. Don’t drink the (highly caffinated) Kool-aid!

Justin, we like the repeats just fine. .don’t care much for the Gordon Ramsey arc however.

To quote a certain polar bear (after trying Red Bull); “This tastes like rancid axle grease!”
Redmess almost 13 years ago
I think Gordon is right, Justin has become addicted to the easy fix of repeats. Hopefully he can cure him.
We know you can do it, Justin. Your countless fans count on you.

Is this the explanation for cartoonist burnout? Don’t go the way of Breathed, Larson, and Watterson, El Jefe!

So instead of heavy responsibility running your life, you have a psychotic running your life. How is this an improvement, exactly?

You have one of the best strips on Gocomics.

Curse auto-correct. Refine should’ve read re-run.
Again, great strip.
Surprised none of the usual smart comments pointed out redbull™ made you see myths in red. Enki was red in some tellings.

i get a wonderful gift when I read your strip – whether new or re-run!
Justin Thompson creator almost 13 years ago
@JusSayin : I don’t work with Stephan anymore, he’s moved on. I can’t run the underwater saga again because I put it in the MythTickle book.
Folks, it’s not burnout or laziness. If I could post new strips all the time I would. I just can’t.

I’m hoping Ramsey means that your 11 hour days have been cut back and you’ll be able to get back to those pesky myths soon.

I love new strips, but re-runs are fine. Just take care of yourself and give us what you can. Love your strip!
