Big Nate by Lincoln Peirce for January 18, 2012
Transcript:
Oh, no! I forgot my homework! Ha! Now you'll get detention for sure! Mr. Galvin? I left my homework on my kitchen table. I apologize, and I promise to bring it tomorrow. That sounds reasonable, Nate. I appreciate your honesty. Arrgh! He appreciates my honesty.

I’m torn, I’d really like to see Nate go a week without detention, but it would be just so funny to see him doing pedicures and waiting on Gina. It’s a shame it can’t work both ways…

Gina will snap and somehow both she and Nate will end up in detention, together.
Chibi-robo64 about 13 years ago
Calm down, Gina, or else you’ll damage your record with a detention.

Okay, WHAT HAS THIS IMPOSTER DONE WITH NATE? Are the Body Snatchers out and about again?

This is old humorless Galvin we’re talking about……..he might “appreciate honesty” but Nate’s not out of the woods with him yet…Nate’s got the rest of “Mr. Happyface’s” class, where he’s generally pretty lackluster anyway, to slog through before he can chalk up a “w” in the science class column. Haw! HAW!!

I’m suspecting that Gina may have hedged her bets – sabotage, perhaps. But I’m really cheering for Nate, here. My only thing is that Nate is being good in order to win a bet with a rival. When Nate learns to be good for goodness sake, then I think he will learn the lesson absolute.
But I am indeed cheering for Nate. He’s demonstrating remarkable self-respect and self-control, and he’s being polite, apologetic and pleasant. If he keeps this up, he could easily become class president. And more.
But again. I am cheering for Nate. Gina, like Nate, has a bad attitude. I wonder what the relationship will be like between Nate and Gina once they hit puberty?
