Let her go without mittens for a day. She might respect and value them more if she has chilly fingers. My mom always taught us, “If you don’t respect it, you won’t have it.” Worked wonders for us ad taught us to take care of our things.

Habits are hard to break.

Put something that tastes horrible on them.

A kid being a kid. After 41 years of doing just that, I think it’s better than growing up by a long shot.

She’s kinda small to be outdoors in the winter alone, isn’t she?

Just let her wear the chewed ones. She said they’re stretched, not that they have holes in them. The kid is what, three? Who cares if her mittens have stretched out thumbs!

Brat.

I suggest a light but stinging spanking.

I changed my mind. How about rubbing vinegar into the thumbs?

She’s still just a toddler. Kids do these things all the time. I bit my fingernails to the cuticles just about. If I wore gloves, I could have just bit the fabric like Lizzie.

I am with puppybreath, if you didn’t respect it, you didn’t deserve it…was both my parents and grandparents motto and what they instilled in me.

I agree with notinksanymore, that’s what i did with my kids.

She’s HOW old? I think no more than 2 and she’s supposed to give a hoot about her mittens? I think not.
