Throughout most of its history, Gasoline Alley has introduced new characters to the storyline. Some of them stick around and eventually become part of the “old, familiar” stable. Others last for the duration of a particular story and then fade into oblivion. As I commented a few days ago, everyone from Skeezix on down has been introduced to the strip at some point. Of the original gang that sat around the garage and exchanged stories, Walt is the only one still alive.
Old organs are incredibly hard to sell, or even give away. Our church keeps getting donations we really don’t want of old organs people want to get out of their living rooms.

When Arlo was up the river, Stacy should have had a job!

Aha! The thick plottens. Arlo’s cash was stashed in the organ which by now is probably sitting in Rufus" livingroom. Play on!

I hope Nina bought it for Skeezix for his upcoming 90th birthday — only 14 days from today!

@OldManMountain and BuzzaWuzza – I bet one of you got it right! This subplot has to get back to Gasoline Alley somehow.

Would have been funnier if you’d spelled “organ” correctly. Oregon is the state between Washington State and California.

That was considerate, Hector. I certainly would have been offended. Oregon, oregano, or even orange are all preferable as a way to maintain decorum.

I wish the cartoonist didn’t do away with Walt’s wife
