I’m actually surprised Pastis came back to this story arc. I thought it had been dropped.

Just a comment on this strip in general. It is so cheezey. Yet it is the one that makes me laugh the most. I feel I should be ashamed for laughing at it, but I no longer care. The sad part is that sometimes I don’t know why I’m laughing.

Among Rat’s many failings the one that might be correctable is his grammar. “This person is bad at their [sic] job.” It should read “his job,” because only one person is referred to, and that person is male. The use of “their” instead of “his” to refer to an unknown or generic person may be acceptable as a concession to the women’s movement, but not when the number and gender are known. I am certain that Goat will agree with me.

Fred Rogers was a Methodist minister. I doubt he used profanity anywhere in public, let alone on his show.

Did anyone notice the signs outside Mr. Rat’s window, which read “BAR” and “NUDES”?÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷I’ve seen a lot of Mr. Rogers takeoffs, but nobody does it like Jim Carrey did it on In Living Color.
