If the airport is big enough, they’ll usually have one store that has more unique items than the usual souvenir junk. I’ve bought some nice souvenirs in the Madrid airport that everyone compliments, but I’ve never found them elsewhere. What?? John, you should have gotten them some wind-up chattering teeth from the convention. The kids would have loved them. ;-)
If I knew someone expected a gift, I’d shop before I got to the airport. The only thing I ever bought at the airport (other than drinks or a magazine) was a stole to keep warm
You can get some really cool things at airport stores. You just have to know where to look. I think it’s nice that he wants to get the kids something. :-)
The last time I travelled, I made sure I had everything I needed, such as batteries for the camera. (film in the old days) I noted these items were available at the connecting airports – but no stated price! This means you pay full flaming retail – about double what you’d paid at home.

When I traveled for work I would get the kids snow globes and pennants (state or college) from each airport. easy to buy light to carry.

Does any one remember when the kids were grown, Michael has a family, Elizabeth was about to get married, then zap we’re back at the beginning?

Aren’t most airport shops located beyond check-in? What ever you buy Would have to be approved for carrying on.

I’d never buy anything at an airport souvenir shop. The prices there on everything are absolutely out of this world expensive!

Kids Michael and Lizzie’s age wouldn’t know what’s in an airport gift shop - or care where it came from!
