Political pundits on top// Candidates on the bottom// Not a sane person to be found. One should never see how sausage or laws are made. Send in the next pig.
The thing is, though, that if anyone seriously proposed this system for the primaries, I’d be buying box seats to watch it and I’d be asking Wiley to join me for the first 5 rounds of drinks. If there were season tickets, I’d get them, too.
I was traveling between Valdosta and Tifton the other day,… I was near Atlanta, GA when a tire blew out. Checking my spare, I found that it too was flat. My only option was to flag down a passing motorist to get a ride to the next town.
The first vehicle to stop was an old man in a van. He yelled out the window, “Need a lift ?”
“Yes, I sure do,” I replied.
“You a Democrat or Republican ?” asked the old man.
“Republican,” I replied. “Well you can just go to Hell,” yelled the old man as he sped off.
Another guy stopped, rolled down the window, and asked me the same question. Again, I gave the same answer, "Republican. The driver gave me the finger and drove off.
I thought it over and decided that maybe I should change my strategy, since this area seemed to be overly political and there appeared to be few Republicans.
The next car to stop was a red convertible driven by a beautiful blonde. She smiled seductively and asked if I was a Democrat or Republican.
“Democrat!”, I shouted.
“Hop in!”, replied the blonde. Driving down the road, I couldn’t help but stare at the gorgeous woman in the seat next to me, the wind blowing through her hair, perfect breasts, and a short skirt that continued to ride higher and higher up her thighs.
Finally, I yelled, “Please stop the car.” She immediately slammed on the brakes and as soon as the car stopped, I jumped out.
“What’s the matter?”, she asked.
“I can’t take it anymore,” I replied. “I’ve only been a Democrat for five minutes and already, I want to screw somebody.”
Ashburn Stadium has been drinking that lsd-spiked koolaid. They can’t help prattling off the same old cliches. MSNBC teaches them to repeat, not to think. What did Bush do that was so awful anyway? The Dems voted for everything you blame him for! The economy was great until the Dems took congress and started bashing the economy. Obama has screwed up big time! Like a little kid “yes we can! yes we can!”
Ah, Dimocrats finally using that dense (and otherwise useless) object on Obama’s shoulders for something. I’m sure that somewhere on there “George Bush Did It” is carved.
Any student of history(or old person) can tell you that war is expensive. Yes, there are those that make money from war, but it is the rest of us that pay. What is wrong with taxing the ones that made all that money?
The housing bubble was designed after the twin towers were taken down, that way we could spread the loss all over the world and, since we had money, we could buy what we liked. Just like the 60s, with VN, the politicians have to keep the people at home happy. Unlike previous wars, Republicans started Iraq, and it ended under a democrat. It is usually the opposite.
Carter took the heat for the recession after VN, when it was Ford with the “whip inflation now” buttons. As I remember, the economy took a long time to come back to the little guys, and “trickle down” never worked. It took maybe 10-14 years after VN until our economy was good for most of the people, it is bad now and we are still at war.
What I noticed first was Wiley didn’t assign ANY party to the ’toon. I can go with his assessment for ALL parties! “Dodge rock” may indeed be the process they use however, so why do they all want the most extreme, instead of the “middle ground” willing to actually serve the people? Corporate rocks are all they use any more.
Had to laugh out loud on this one! But, then, the comments sort of took the fun out of the whole concept. Thank goodness for all the Wileys of the world! They help balance out the bickering and ill will that abounds.
There is no such thing as majority rule in the American government any more. No law may pass without a super majority of 60 or more votes, because of republican filibusters 100% of the time on 100% of all bills in congress. Democrats only had 58 senators. Not enough to overcome reactionary obstructionism……for my money, I wish republicans really were as stupid as they seem and sound, but I think they’re just congenital liars…
NOT going to get into the discussion here…. just wanted to post a message I saw from the missing Dogsniff….(and for anyone who doesn’t know, now matter where this SAYS he posted, his comments have been made invisible except on his profile page):

Well here it is gang. Like I said, I admitted my mistake and assured them it was an innocent one. I apologized. They said they discussed it, and have banished me forever. If anyone would care to email them at support@uclick.com and speak up for me. It could help. I’ll be on the road again, but will try to check my messages. Thanks all, Dogsniff
I’m far from wealthy, but still have usually voted Republican on presidents (except JFK as I was Catholic- so much to those who worry about Romney as a Mormon) Polititions are not religious- just want voters! I would vote for anyone I believe could do a really good job and so far (of the scant choices we have, Romney may be it – not the greatest choice, but better than alternatives!
Hehe…nice. Well ya know the only one that big media has never put as the front runner, but won’t seem to away. Poor republican party, you’re getting rocked by the looney guy who makes sense. I hope he runs independent anyway.“lesser of the 2 evils” still = evil = ignorance
And yes, we are, for allowing it to continue for this long. The lessons will become more obvious as they become more difficult until it all comes back around full circle.
If its not too late already or too broken to repair, there’s only 1 way to know, that at least we tried.
Do this favor for everyone, unplug your TV & stay connected.
@AshburnStadium and alike. Believe me, Bush years and GOP were hard to live through. I used to think in bipartisan terms too. But if that’s all the system structure allows for, vote on the individual, not the party. If the dark horse isn’t in it, I won’t care either way…all or nothing. Game over. Nice try. Too bad there’s no next time.
If they ALL seem “crazy” or “foolish”, just do your homework and make up your own mind. This isn’t the same bipartisan smoke & mirrors.
“if a person doesn’t know a man, one tends to regard him as a fool.” -C.G.Jung
The “crazy” cosmic karma joke is on us. There’s never a shortage of irony, especially when there’s a shortage of irony.
Let’s go to a Celebrity Death Match format instead of the Electoral College. I can just see it now. Plastic Man vs No Where Man in a no holds barred, knock down, drag out, fight to the finish. Survivor gets to rule the civilized world. Imagine the ratings. Imagine the revenue generated in pay per view dollars alone. Why, we could wipe out the national debt in one night.
