Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Look at just about every comic strip out there. Nobody complains about them, BUT IF I POST IN ALL CAPS EVERYBODY’S GOING TO TELL ME TO STOP YELLING!.
It’ll still sound louder..Programs have highs and lows in volume. Hence the volume control changes that you have to make every so often. The highs hit limiters or electronic stops..Commercials do what’s called “riding the limiters”. All of the audio is at the same maximum volume..
Just yesterday, I noticed that the commercials on Hulu were far, far quieter than normal, and my show was at standard volume. I could barely hear the GEICO gecko talk.
Have you seen stay in your face pop-ups, and loud self-starting non stopping videos yet guys, and irritating non-stop motion ads? You can’t even watch YouTube without something staying on the screen. Advertising is really out of control.
I’m puzzled by how the networks’ response to viewers fleeing to the Internet is to add more commercials. Don’t they get it? The more ads they add, the fewer of us will watch….
I wish this place had Sam Hurt’s “Eyebeam” comics… one of the main characters, Ratliff, is the guy who cranks the volume up on commercials. He seems to think he is the moving force for human civilization…
True, the commercials would be gone; and so would the shows the commercials pay for. Better the FCC ban the so-called reality shows and infomercials- and all the ads from the ambulance chasers! (if you died as a result of taking this drug, call us NOW and we might be able to get you some money!)

I believe that commercials where louder so you could hear them when you ran to the kitchen or bathroom during the program break.

Keep the comics loud and clear.

We sorted this out in the UK. Sort of. Loud commercials are now illegal. Yay! Quiet, very quiet, programmes are not. Work it out.
