I’m surprised that Calvin even knows the WORDS “neural transmitters”, much less what they are and what they do.

Looks like Calvin is putting in the early training necessary to get through the election.

He wouldn’t need to go to all that effort if he would just turn on a reality TV show.

Instead of doing anything when there’s “nothing on”, I’ll sit there and flip through the channels looking, hoping, there’s something better on the next one . . . there never is. That’s the definition of crazy: keep doing the same thing and expec a different result. Oh well.

If I didn’t know my neurons were shutting down, I could almost swear that I hear them! Wait, it takes some to watch and listen!

It sounds like a vast wasteland to me!

Bet you can’t name one made up “fact”. I used to feel the same as you until challenged by a friend to watch and get all my TV news for a month from that source. Now I understand why they are the highest rated cable news channel in the country. I don’t always agree with the commentators (different from the news programs), but had to admit that there was less bias than on such as MSNBC, et. al. Fox has more liberal contributors than the conservative contributors on all the other cable and networks combined. I like to hear both sides and make up my own mind.

That’s what TV does to you.

A complete forfeiture of experience, extend the passivity to my entire being. these are the kind of statements that make Watterson the best . (In my opinion)

Calvin is going for the full immersion deal!

I ended TV service in 2005 and haven’t missed the hours of “dull” and ads since. Anything I really want to see ends up on Youtube or iTunes, or on DVD from Netflix, all of which are far less expensive than cable. I own 2 TVs, but they’re really for computer games or movies and TV programs minus the annoying advertising.

Hobbes’ comment absolutely hilarious, particularly in light of the fact that the tv’s volume appears to be up all the way….

You get the Zen state of Calvin when watching soccer or golf. They’re like watching paint dry….

I’ve fallen asleep to Gilligan’s Island before. I didn’t quite look like Calvin does here, though.

“Neural transmitters shutting down” . . . a prime example of what happens when parents let a television “babysit” their kids all the time!

All turned into Ron Raygun.

That’s a heck of a lot of work to end up doing absolutely nothing.

But, then again, I suppose that’s the exact point. Never mind.

Calvin must be watching sitcoms from the 1980s again.

Calvin you forgot the junk food and pop.
