I have bad news for Calvin. We Trekkies know enough about time traval to know that if he went to the future, he wasn’t in the present to do his homework, so the whole idea is self defeating. sorry.
Dig those crazy time travel special effects! Calvin is too young for this to be an acid flashback. Maybe he does acid in the future and this is a flash forward?
On Memorial Day here in the U.S., here is a tribute to all who have fought for freedom, anywhere in the world. We can’t thank you enough.Click here: Pearls Before Swine (May 25, 2003)
Calvin is demonstrating what theorists are beginning to believe: that time travel IS possible.
See the equation below:
a(b)+(b)c=D(2)-3.17~9999
If you can figure it out and arrive at the correct solution, then you will not see the relevance and may guess that I made it up and therefore wasted your time.
No, 8:30 Calvin has the homework. He gives it to earlier Calvin and no longer has it to turn in. The homework has no existence outside the timeloop. See “All You Zombies” by R.A. Heinlein.
Hi LX013Since you are Dutch, you may not recognize what Pig is doing. That’s our Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. It includes a long wall containing the more than 58,000 names of U.S. service members who died or were missing in action during the Vietnam War. Visitors are able to locate specific names on the wall by looking them up in a directory. I’ve visited the memorial, and it is a very moving experience.
Hi TeresaSometimes feelings can only be experienced and can never adequately be put into words. The fact that Pig doesn’t speak in this Memorial Day strip makes it even more powerful, helping us to focus on what we are feeling.I also like the fact that Pig didn’t tell Rat where he was going. He protected the privacy of the moment, without needing or wanting anyone else to know what he was doing. So his focus was totally on those whom he was honoring, and not on himself.Like you, I dislike Rat’s nasty personality, but I love the fact that Pig is genuinely kind and, as today’s strip demonstrates so well, genuinely human. Pig generally comes across as the stupid one, but that is only according to the way in which the world measures intelligence. In other ways, he is wise beyond words.

In a solipsistic worldview, that can actually happen.

So Calvin is expecting his future-self to do the job?

It’s that motion and cartoonish elasticity in panels 2&3 that we more missing in comics today. Everything’s so static.

If he just wrote down what he did to avoid the assignment, he’d complete the assignment.
