They make Pee-Pads. I put them by the kitchen door at night for my old girl.
And don’t forget the shedders and droolers.

We had a dog who slept between our feet and we loved it.
Try sleeping in a king-size bed on a cold night with four adult cats. I’m doing really well to be allowed about 1/8th of it for myself, and even that’s cramped! Cats really do NOT like winter.
