Here we go again with Pickles and Spitzy!

Whether a rerun or not, consider: Nate’s been under a ton of pressure in story lines since, oh. about the time he finished his Halloween candy (Nov. 2 or so…). Of course he walks deaf, blind & dumb(er) into this one…..by now his guard should be pretty shot down! Hem! HEM!!

Well, it turns out you guys are right. This strip is a rerun after all, not from two but from three years ago.  What I don’t get is why Lincoln decided to give today’s version a new copyright notice and today’s date. Most cartoonists just let their reruns unaltered. Reruns happen. All of us are aware of that and understand that (or at least we should).  I personally love to find now and then a rerun-ed strip. It’s almost as if the cartoonist is homaging himself, and rightly so since usually only the best cartoons get rerun-ed. Altering the date is bad because it generates confusion. For example, when you look back into the archives you see the art for a strip evolve with time, and that’s awesome. A re-labeled rerun breaks that magic and ruins cartoon archeology. Well, that’s just my $0.02.

Cheez! Nate w/that Santa Claus hat, Francis w/the Charlie Brown’s Christmas headgear. It’s definitely mid-winter.

Gosh its not a big deal, there were many strips before this that were similar i guess.

Animals don’t, um, “Wrestle” when they’re in the air, though…
