Miss Bliss: Let's see what Alice has painted! Alice: I call this "No More Stupid Naps." I'm exploring issues of dominance, ageism and unchecked adult supervisory Pascism through post-expressionistic imagery of power, innocence and repression. Miss Bliss: It's very pretty, Alice! Thank you for brightening our classroom with your art! Alice: I think it flew right over her head. Dill: So did my performance piece "No More Stupid Baby Carrots," especially the part where I pretended to regurgitate the orange crayon.

Is Thompson back or is this just the Sunday schedule? We’ll know Monday.

I’m reminded of Calvin’s explanations of some of his art. I miss that strip; I’m glad this one is around.

I think it’s too soon. This is a rerun of an older Thompson strip.

Since the students are becoming smarter than the teacher, Miss Bliss is probably thinking of retirement about now!

I agree that Richard is probably not returned yet, but we all have hope. I’m just glad he has friends to fill in. Most adults are too controlled to understand such artistic rage;-P

The Sunday strips have been Richard’s. He may have done a few ahead before he had to have his treatments. Get well soon, Richard!

Brilliant work by Corey Pandolph last week. I’m only disappointed he couldn’t have worked in a talking dog or a robot.

I can see Miss Bliss’s eye from behind the glasses. Well done!

Miss Bliss is well named.

I don’t care for certain child-centered strips because the children couldn’t possibly say the things they’re portrayed as saying. However, a real “Alice” couldn’t possibly have said what Cartoon Alice did in this strip, and it’s still hilarious. Maybe it’s the edginess.

First Calvin, then Alice. What’s with all these comic strips kids using big words I wouldn’t have even known how to say at their ages?

Wow… I’m more impressed with her vocab (and the fact that she could remember and pronounce all those words) than the painting itself. LOL!!
