Cul de Sac by Richard Thompson for February 20, 2012

Transcript:
Alice: I dream a poem of you! Petey: You can't draw a poem. Alice: It's a "pe-drew-em," Petey! Petey: $400? This makes no sense! Alice: You can tell it's you, he's worried and wearing black.
Cool drawings (both Alice’s and the strip). But… who is Jante (or Jaute) and why is he substituting for Richard Thompson? I’m all for occasional guest cartoonists drawing for their pals, but I just hope that RT is OK!
A quick Google search answered my question. RT is indeed undergoing a medical treatment. Michael Jantze and other great cartoonists are substituting for him. I look forward to see their takes on Cul de Sac but I wish it was under different circumstances. (And yes, I would have known all this if I had read the comments for the past few days. I apologize.) Get well Richard! We will await your return eagerly!
(Bill Watterson, you want to guest for a week. You want to guest for a week. You want to guest for a week… When I snap my fingers, you will not remember having read this post.)
Best wishes Richard, hope all goes well and you can return sooner than later. In the meantime, looks like you have some good friends there to help out!
I hope the treatment helps and wish only the best for you. I love your comic and it is the first I read every day. Thanks for keeping us up to date on your blog, I now read that every day also.
Get well, Richard! Looking to see you back with new strips as soon as you can! In the meantime, we’ll get by with guest artists and reruns. We’re rooting for you!
I’m looking forward to the guest artists – this should be fun! Thanks to all of you in advance. And anything that helps Richard Thompson get better is worth the time and effort, as these artists obviously know.
i had no idea what was going on until i found it online. i wish he had just repeated past comics. i don’tlike the drawings or the storyline or lack of it…
petey kind of scares me and reminds me about petey, the worlds most evil cat from super diaper baby 2. cul de sac is now my 2nd favorite favorite comic. my first is the book series and comic strip big nate by lincon peirce maker of diary of a wimpy kid.

I hope that all goes well for Richard. He is very brave to keep on the way he does. Parkinson’s is not easy to live with.

That looks more like Dill than Petey, Alice.

Is that Big Shirley in Alice’s drawing?

Oh, Petey, logic has nothing to do with it! It’s Little Sister stuff!
Welcome, Michael Jantze! Best wishes for successful treatment, Richard!

I wonder if RT is in contact with Michael J. Fox and how he controls the tremors while drawing.
