Can’t wait to hear the answer!!!I agree with rmacprivate – If love made for a perfect reason to marry someone, we all would have married our high school sweethearts. It is only a modern notion to marry for love. I would say that as recent as some of our grandparents that people married for practical reasons more often than love. People got married to have someone take care of their children, people got married so that they could get away from their parents, people got married because their parents set it up for practical reason, etc. And a lot of those marriages turned into loving relationships. Love doesn’t necessarily need to come first, as long as both parties are compatible and willing.

If Lila has the tiniest shred of honesty, she’ll tell him to take a hike, with his mother over his shoulder. Just sayin’

I think she shoulda taken the money. It’s not like she can possibly marry him, she just can’t.

Sorry, but there’s a word for sleeping with someone you don’t desire, in return for money.
More money doesn’t change the definition, and a marriage license just makes it legal.
I’m not condemning everyone who practices the world’s oldest profession…some have to and some have no moral qualms, which is a personal decision.
But I’m certainly not shouting “Marry him!”
To me, there are worse things than being poor…. and a loveless marriage is one of them.
If she really thinks she can learn to love him, she needs to ask for some time to answer…. and if he really loves her he’ll give it to her.

Lila would be absolutely horrified to see today’s comic.
We get a solid view of everyone’s shoes except hers, and we only get a hint of them in the third panel.
If Lila is going to spend that much $$ on shoes, the people demand to see them.
