Since I discovered Elderberries not that long ago, I am really enjoying these early strips – but am sure missing following their adventures in their “new lives”.

Since Pandolph made like a rat on a sinking ship, I’m gonna desert also. No more of this. goodbye all. I’m outta here.

I’m looking forward to the original artist’s take on all the characters and their foibles.

Dusty is so much cuter now. I quit taking Toby. I guess sometimes good things happen when a cartoon maker bails. Maybe by the time the reruns (may they re-run long) that another cartooner will pick it up. That would be cool.

Enjoy seeing the strip from the beginning since I came into it near the end. It was nice that they gave the comic a dignified ending for the readers.

Dusty grew on me and I fell in “like” with the strip just about a year ago and I am enjoying the beginning of what was to me a sad ending. I was verklempt for a long time. But am overjoyed to see the beginning of what was a great strip. Like another commentator said, maybe when it gets close to where Corey decided to leave off, another artist will decide that there is life in this old rooster yet and decide to continue it. I can see Dusty and Boone coming to visit and checking up on his former compadres. And I bet Evelyn and the Professor will have gotten together, that the General and Ludmilla live in the same community as the Professor and Evelyn and that Ms. Overdunne comes back with her lover from Italy and settles close to them all. Then Dusty and Boone decide to move back to be close to thier friends and Ms. Overdunne gets offered the position of head of staff at the Professor and Evelyns new community and the fun continues for all of them as well as us!
