I have been a very happy girl ever since I stopped reading those goofy magazines!

This is one of those comics where I was planning on just reading part of the stuff in the first panel when I realized the tips conflicted. Kudos for getting me to read all of that. I smiled. I’ve tried to look at magazines like that but could never get into them. I guess it’s a blessing…?

Haha, yeah no. I could give you a huge typed speech about how climate change is a more accurate term than global warming and that the most important side effects of climate change do not actually really impact the human way of life, and that as some climates get warmer, others get colder, or experience droughts or floods, which means we will obviously not ALL be living in nudist colonies, but that’s a waste of my time. And no, the above was not the long speech.

When I was growing up, we had a different word for climate change. We called it weather.

Two thoughts: 1) The fashion industry thrives on women’s confusion and self esteem. 2) Great joke – “… if I knew what to pack” Obviously, nothing!

As stated above, these characters exist in what to us is an “alternate dimension.” Comic strips are “real” in the sense that they resemble our world, but their reality is in what might be called a “paralell universe.” In particular, DC Comics has done that idea to extreme complexity in the last 50 years…

Is there anyone here old enough to remember a popular song from the 1950s, titled; “Standing On The Corner, Watching All The Girls Go By?” It contains a very classic line— “Brother, they can’t throw you in jail for what you’re thinking!”It’s from a Broadway play, called; “The Most Happy Fella.”

Why bother wanting to see them all nude. He only draws maybe three female forms. Luann prototype covers Crystal, Bernice and Delta. Tweak the lips to become mom. Slight modification does Rosa and Tif. Hot-type prototype does Eye-Full and Toni. The one that covers old people and teachers is hardly a form and doesn’t count. So, seen three, you’ve seen all.

Believe it or not, Luann HAS appeared totally naked before (well, she had an umbrella). It was a Sunday comic, but I can’t seem to find it.And Luann, I think you only need a toothbrush :D :D :D

Every time I see a program about current fashion, I ignore it. I like to look good, but I’ve been through so many fashion trends I can (and do) shop in my closets. I still like making more clothes. My bird room and more are stuffed with fabrics.

They are in the business of selling magazines, and they need to have their readers buy a new one every month, so they can stay afloat in the publishing world.

Rule 34 would suggest that somewhere in the vast sleazy underbelly of the www, in violation of intellectual property rights and common decency, such images already exist…. Just turn off “safe search” when you go to pursue this impossible dream. Oh, and by the way, don’t thank me. In fact, I’m not sure I want to know where you find them.

@melmarsh9vYep.. I remember it came out when I was in Turkey in the Army SigCorps in 1956 .Was done by The Four Lads. Our little band had to play it at the local clubs.. Got the LP right here….and to @The J.A.M.. the nekkid version of Luann is at the July 23, 2006 page.I used it as the first half of a revenge cartoon on my daughters (who couldn’t keep clothes on when they were young) and their sons who can’t resist using their mothers’‘sanitary products’ as body art..I laff… They mumble something or other about stupid ol’grandpas… .And yes, I agree about the stupidity of ‘TEENAGE MAGS’that keep them eternally confused durimg all the dramaof growing up. If it weren’t for the foundering old ladiesahead of me in the express line trying to remember their swipe card numbers or cashing a check from out of state, I’d never know that there are ‘57 ways to satisfy your man’and all the subjects mentioned by Greg.

Oh brother, I don’t even read those things since I consider those things overrated.

No nudity, the strip would get a PG-13 rating, or maybe even an R (depending on how tastefully it is portrayed). You have to think of the sale of the TV rights down the line!

I never followed “fads”. Instead, I would wear a T-shirt and a good pair of jeans that does not look like it got too close to a sander which is how I see those torn jeans some girls wear.

Ok Greg, no hateful remarks, just a little “please do some research” criticism. The term “nudist colony” was coined in the 1930’s by a hateful media. It has never, ever been used by nudist to describe where they go. Nudists and naturists go to clubs, resorts, camps, beaches, hot springs, or parks. Love your strip, it’s the first one I read every morning.

At the rate characters age in this comic, it will be around 25 years from now that Luann will be portrayed as 18!

Last week I turned 59 1/2— I may be old, but I’m not dead yet. Again, these are not actual teenage girls, just an artist’s creation. It’s been amusing today how there have been comparisions of drawings of underage cartoon girls to photos of real-life teenagers!

AshburnStadium— I just viewed it, and whoever did it has enough imagination to have his own daily feature. Of course, no mainstream newspaper would ever publish him…

Thanks again AshburnStadium— I’ll keep “David Willis” (which may or may not be his real name) in mind, hoping I’ll see more of his Luann parodies. If he read some of today’s comments, he could get plenty of ideas for future projects, unless he has already thought of them.

Luann is one of my favorite comics, along with Arlo & Janis, Crankshaft, Heart Of The City, One Big Happy and Get Fuzzy!However, I wish GoComics listed “Zits,” so I could rant on and on about how idiotic it is. If anyone on this site is unfamiliar with it, let me just say that it is about an incredibly lazy 16-year-old boy and his ridiculously ignorant parents. Mostly, it consists of daily gags about how much he sleeps, what a messy room he has, and the amount of food he can consume. Also, it includes scenes of him in school with other stupidly-conceived characters. I read my favorite comics to get some laughs; I read Zits to groan at the lack of humor. Enough editorializing until tomorrow…
