Red and Rover by Brian Basset for March 16, 2012
Transcript:
Listen to what's in your food. Beef, beef byproduct, dried beet pulp, potassium chloride, folic acid, biotin, pyridoxine hydrochloride, sodium selenite, niacin, and calcium carbonate. Read it again, please, but with an Australian accent. Everything sounds better with an Australian accent!

Rover, you won’t have a “G’day” if you eat that mystery meat and chemical mishmash…vegemite couldn’t be worse!

sounds better than pink slime that taco bell and mcD’s use to sell … now it is only bought by the public school system

He’s got a point, that Rover.

A British accent makes it sound fancier though.

I’m glad I don’t read the ingredients before dishing it out. It would ruin my appetite.

@AshburnStadium, Kroger’s is the same way. They own Albertson"s and Fred Meyer. Why Red is doing this to Rover, I don’t know. Dogs don’t really care what they eat, as long as you feed them. G’day, mates!

chireef: At least now schools have been given permission not to use pink slime – as though the war against public education is giving schools enough money to avail themselves of that option. They barely have enough money to feed flat-earth drivel in over-filled classrooms – but can still afford a winning football team and a massive stadium to put them in.

That sounds much healthier than what a lot of human dishes have in it… beef as the first two main ingredients, beet pulp (for content and color), Potassium Chloride (a healthier alternative to Sodium salt), and it’s fortified with other nutrients. It certainly reads better than soda or most foods that people tend to eat. ;-)

I’m not surprised about the “pink slime” and mystery meat. Schools have been cooking and serving mystery meat from time began with schools. I remember a time when the government when provide schools with overruns of foods like raisins. That year we had raisins in cake, jello, salads, veggies and when they tried to put raisins in the so-called meat, we balked. So what else is new?
