My Pontiac Sunbird was like that every year until it started to burn oil, then the muffler stopped rusting through.
I bought a lifetime muffler once. Didn’t realize that it was only good for the lifetime of the repair shop.
My last “lifetime” muffler was good for the lifetime of the muffler.
Pluggers care little for the environment.
