he means ‘rhythm guitar’ so in this case not on lead guitar….

His thinking is baseless, but he will continue to try and drum it into our being.

or it could mean rhythm section, as in the drums—also not lead guitar.

Some got rhythm, children, some need to look it up.I always LIKED a good percussionist with a Latin leaning who would ‘make up’ a rhythm riff and keep it going whilst…I…got to prance and PRETEND to be lead, basically just playing what i heard THEM doing…on a slightly different instrument, of course.

So, Trapper… you didn’t get it either??

Even for those of us who got it right off the bat, it’s less than an immortal classic. But let’s be charitable: not every piece by a master is a masterpiece, either.

If you don’t get a joke, you are not commenting about the joke, you are commenting about yourself.

Thanks to those who explained the joke. Now the musically bent comments make sense.

Drummer Diary?

Perhaps it should have read, “The gyu not on the Log-A-beat.” ???

Using a word my son would say, “Meh!” This wasn’t up to par.

I disagree, and to those that think they can do better, let’s see what you got. What would you write in the last panel as your definition of logarithim?
