Okay, the first question made sense – why put a well on a hill? Isn’t that just extra drilling? Or is it a spring well?

Why do we assume it was a well? They could have been getting water from a stream with a waterfall. I never liked this tale.

My personal issue, why is it Jack! is the one who “falls” and breaks his crown?Was there an investigation in to a possible motive for Jill to have caused this?Sorry, had that issue since childhood :(

Did not Jill come tumblling after? I always thought she didn’t go unscathed. Later I learned those old nursery rhymes were social or political commentary.
