Aaron is clicking, with things well in hand Wally is ticked — it’s not what he had planned That they are alive is pure chance and good fortune And from looks alone, AM’s in for a scorchin’! =|====/ Level Head Vote for Endtown 2.0 And for Doc Rat, too The Endtown Forum
Flask won’t have to worry about Aaron Marx if Wally, Holly and Petey kill him first! XD I love how protective Wally is of Holly. The whole time they were falling, he was holding onto her, and even now. ;^;
Judging by the look on Wally’s face, it’s probably a good thing at this moment that he lost the gun…Or else AM may well have become a little pile of dust just now.
I’m glad Petey has rescued Holly and Wally, but let the fireworks commence as Aaron has to face one angry cat as well as equally angry robot. Aaron can’t afford to be so cavalier with these three.
As usual, I’m left wondering what’s going on in AM’s mind. He winds his little gizmo, then looks out the door. But what is he thinking? I’m not so sure he’s uncaring about the situation. It looks more like he’s expecting something to happen, but wondering if it will or if he’s in time. I don’t think AM’s look is one of surprise that they’re alive and coming back on board. And what is that thing anyway? It’s not a watch, not an astrolabe….but he keeps it on a fob and it is wound like a watch. Hmmm…this week’s mystery AM item.Either way, he’s got one mad cat to deal with and that Campbell’s soup can with a brain doesn’t look any too happy either. I think AM is either going to have to choose sides or deal with a Wally none of us have seen yet.
I sense a cat fight! Sorry. It just had to come out. I do believe I would be just a touch testy myself after that. Just the look on AM’s face would make me whomp him. (whomp is a southern word)
I still don’t think that dot from panel 4 yesterday was their shadow—what about the clouds ending at the diagonal line—what was that all about?? A net below?? Would they have been saved anyway??? Curiouser and curiouser……..
AM is 100% self centered. He only concerns himself with others when it suits his purposes. He is not malicious, he is just indifferent. This incident was the perfect example. He had no idea what was behind that door, if it had been an empty room he would have passed it off and moved on. The danger is assuming (as W&H did on deck) that his good humor and apparent hospitality implied an underlying level of concern or empathy. The truth is just what AM said himself, he does what HE wants, when HE wants to regardless of whatever surroundings he may find himself in. If his actions are beneficial to others it is simply by coincidence. The same may be said for actions that prove to be otherwise.
Wally: “We need to talk…”AM: “You’re back? I suppose you returned to say ‘Good bye’. It was rather rude of you to simply rush off like that without so much as a ‘by your leave’.”
Marx is teaching them a lesson about taking things for granted. They just took his word that that was the door to the bridge, not thinking there could be danger on the other side. Little surprises around every corner, and sometimes dangerous.

This does nothing to resolve the issue of the dot in yesterday’s 4th panel! So, I’m imagining a rather one-sided conversation coming up!

Now we know what “wide-eyed terror” looks like.
The dot was probably either Wally and Holly’s shadow, or the ship’s. Petey’s shadow was probably outside the panel frame.

Yesterday the rotor was on Petey’s base, today, it’s from his top end. Is it reversable? Hmmm…

Shades of HP, that looks very much like a Time Turner.

Thanks, TSOJ, I didn’t remember that.

What about poor Holly? She looks (pardon the pun) catatonic.

maybe someone who read Aaron strips knows what that device in AMs hand is ?

Petey’s pretty expressive for a robot, too…..

@Bronkster, the dot in yesterday’s 4th panel could be the gun (what’s left of it.)
DADOF3 over 12 years ago
Maybe it’s the ship’s self destruct timer. AM could be getting bored… ;-)

Nice job with panel 4 Aaron. These are the looks of terror (Holly) and hatred (Wally). Well done indeed!

Yes, that’s quite a nervous tic that Aaron M has developed…

I love how Petey usually has bags under his eyes, as if he’s tired of all the BS contstantly going on around him. Serves his character well.
